What is a Connector?

A Connector is a mediating component that enables data exchange between different software and systems. For example, if an e-commerce company has “online store,” “accounting software,” and “inventory management system,” connectors are needed to automatically exchange data among these three systems. Without connectors, manual data conversion and transfer between systems would be required, which is extremely inefficient.

In a nutshell: “An interpreter translating different systems’ ’languages’ so they can talk.” System A might record “customer name: Taro” while System B records “Customer: Taro.” The connector automatically translates this.
