What are API Keys?

API Keys are unique alphanumeric strings enabling applications to securely access APIs, authenticating “is this application really yours?” They’re the most common API authentication method, letting companies manage API access and control usage.

In a nutshell: Like a library membership card—presenting it proves “you’re a registered member,” and the library tracks how many books you’ve borrowed.

Why it matters

How it works
